A Journey of Roots, Culture and Craft
Born from the rich heritage of Jamaica, Cross Road Coffee is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a bridge between tradition, passion, and purpose. The name "Cross Road" pays homage to Cross Roads, Jamaica, a vibrant hub in Kingston where life, commerce, and culture intersect. It also represents a pivotal moment in the life of founder Mike McPherson, who, after years in the corporate world, chose to follow his passion for coffee and honor his island roots by creating a space where the true essence of the Caribbean could be experienced—one cup at a time.
At Cross Road Coffee, we celebrate Jamaican coffee—renowned for its bold flavors and smooth finish—but we go beyond what the world traditionally associates with the island. Jamaica is more than reggae, track and field, and cannabis. It is a land of artisans, storytellers, innovators, and, most importantly, farmers whose craftsmanship is as rich as the soil they cultivate. Our mission is to educate and immerse customers in the deeper beauty of the Caribbean—its landscapes, its people, and its flavors—while maintaining a conscious commitment to sustainability and fairness.
We believe in uplifting the small local farmers of not just Jamaica, but the entire Caribbean, bringing forward lesser-known yet exceptional coffee from islands like Haiti, Panama, the Dominican Republic, St. Vincent, and Puerto Rico. By forging direct-trade partnerships, we ensure that our farmers receive fair compensation and support for sustainable agricultural practices, helping to preserve both their livelihoods and the environment.
More than a café, Cross Road Coffee is an invitation—to explore, to connect, and to experience the Caribbean in its full vibrancy. Here, every sip tells a story of heritage, resilience, and the crossroads that bring us all together.
